Turalyon-Horde is becoming a small server. It's very important to keep our reputation on this server up. Please do NOT troll trade while you're playing on an Ascension character. Also stay polite while dealing with other guilds (even DPP!).

Raid time adjustments! / RBGs again!

I've changed the raid times a TINY bit. We'll aim at starting raids at 19:10 (20:10 server). We've already been doing this for the past couple of weeks, but now it's official. Try not to be late! For people who come on at 19:20 (Cat) for very specific reasons, no problem, but we'll clear trash without you :)

On a different note - I've added RBGs to our calendar again. We'll try and get a group going on Friday evening! Please sign up if you have a decent amount of res (3.5k+) and want a good time!

Congratulations to Execrow for becoming the officer for team 2! Execrow will be in charge of raid composition for team 2, and will coordinate necessary swaps with team 1 if necessary.

His commitment to the game, and the time he spends on min/maxing an entire raid-comp has brought me to this decision - he's also the most vocal person in team 2 (which is not that hard...).

Anyways, good look Exe and team 2!

It's always good as a guild to set ourselves some short/middle-term goals. I think we should aim at accomplishing the following:

- Team 2 - 8/8 and Morchok hc progression
- Team 1 - progress on Yorsahj / Hagara hc
- Finish up the Legendary for Caturix
- Get 6/7hc in Firelands, and try Ragnaros heroic
- Get Glory of the Firelands Raider + Mounts
- Sinestra!

2011 has been a very successful year for Ascension as a guild. We've managed to clear all normal modes Blizzard has thrown at us, and even a couple of heroic modes. We've also seen the addition of a 2nd raid team to our guild, bringing in a lot of new faces. I, for one, am very happy with the current state of Ascension as a guild, and I hope we'll keep on rocking in the new year.

For now, enjoy the time with friends and family, and don't do things I would do,

Oh noez, my DKP!

All DKP has been decimated. Your total DKP is 10% of what it used to be. This is intended, and meant to make the loot-system more equal as we move into the Dragon Soul. Happy Hunting!

Edit: Rounded to the nearest 5 as any number between is not useable and will sit there for the whole tier - Wilf

DKP rules update

Effective starting next Sunday (13/11/11), the following changes have been made to our DKP system, regarding off-spec rolls: (edited for clarity)
 
- if multiple people roll for an OS item. DKP will decide who gets the item. OS-items will cost 15 DKP in this case. The interest for an OS item will still be expressed by rolling 50. If only one person wants an item for OS, the gear will be free of charge.

Hopefully, this will make the distribution of gear more fair, and at the same time, keep our DKP from going into the 1000s.

A quick note from an annoyed officer: (stressing the point, edit 6/11/11)

Recently, the amount of abuse towards other players in our guild has increased. It's not uncommon to log in and see an argument going on on guild chat. I want this to stop. Both our raid teams have the same goal, and we're in it together.

So please, stop flaming each other, stop changing other people's notes to something insulting, and start working together. Not only within raids, but also during off-hours.

If I see this negative (and childish) behaviour continuing, I will take swift and decisive actions to stop it.

T12 Raiding Rules!

We're now 2/7HC T12!! Our 2nd raid team has finished Firelands (7/7) too, so... time for a quick update on the rules, for all our new guys!

DKP / rolling on items:
Nothing will really change after patch 4.2. We will still use our traditional DKP system. However, all DKP has been reset to 10% of your total amount at the end of patch 4.1.

a) Tier 11 normal raids will no longer award any DKP. Any loot will just be rolled upon by a MS/OS roll (100/50) - highest roller wins.
b) Tier 11 heroic raids will still award full DKP (30), and loot still needs to be purchased. MS loot costs 30 DKP. Highest DKP wins.
c) Tier 12 normal raids will award 30 DKP per full raid, regardless of the number of boss kills. MS loot costs 30 DKP. Highest DKP wins.
d) Baradin Hold will not award any DKP, nor will the items cost DKP to purchase. We do not consider this a "normal raid".

Note: off-spec loot will not cost any DKP, and highest roll wins. The raid leader will decide whether or not something is OS or not. Side-grades are not considered OS, and will cost DKP.

Sign-ups: Approved / Queued / Cancelled:
If you want to participate in any raid, you need to sign up on the website calendar. The earlier you do this, the happier the raid leaders will be. When you sign up you will show as "queued". The raid leader will post the raid composition at least 8 hours in advance of the raid. The following can happen:

a) You are approved - you are expected to be available for the full 3 hours, you're part of the team for this evening! (30 DKP Awarded)
b) You are queued - you are expected to be available at the start of the raid, to fill up the raid in case of cancellations. (10 DKP)
c) You are cancelled - either you signed cancelled because you're not available, or the raid leader has set you to cancelled. (0 DKP)

Not showing up:
If you've signed up for a raid, and fail to show up without prior notice, you will receive a 30 DKP penalty, and you will be benched for one week (2 raids). Please post in the shoutbox or let any of the officers know when you can't make it, in order to avoid this penalty. This also goes for "queued" sign ups - please show up at the start of the raid, or set yourself to "cancelled" - failure to show up will cost you DKP and raiding time.

Going afk mid-raid (edit Sept 1st).
When you are in an Ascension raid, you are expected to be available for the full 3 hours. Plan your dinner around it. The raid leader will call for breaks in between, and we can handle 2-min bio breaks if you really can't hold it anymore. If you need to go afk for dinner for 15 minutes, you will be removed from the raid and replaced.

Shaviron has joined the squad of officers. He'll be in charge of PvP-related things, as well as helping poor old Skali when necessary!
